The modern RV Motorhome lifestyle offers far more than affordable travel or lower living costs. Today, many travelers choose an RV Motorhome because it creates freedom, flexibility, and a true sense of home on the road.
This incredible custom-built RV Motorhome proves exactly that. Built on an older Iveco Magirus heavy-duty truck platform, this handcrafted truck conversion combines rustic beauty, smart engineering, and full off-grid living capability. The result feels less like a camper and more like a luxury cabin on wheels.
RV Motorhome Features a Unique Expandable Design
One feature instantly separates this RV Motorhome from most truck campers and expedition rigs: dual slide-outs.
The owners, Florian and Maria from Germany, designed and built the entire project themselves. Florian works as a master carpenter, which explains the incredible craftsmanship throughout the build.
The rear section of the RV Motorhome includes two manually operated slide-outs. Each slide expands the interior living space while avoiding the complexity of electric systems. Manual operation also reduces maintenance concerns during long-term travel.
Both slide-outs use the same wood finish as the rest of the cabin, which creates a seamless appearance. Integrated slide toppers automatically extend when the slides open.
Even with the slides closed, the RV Motorhome remains fully functional. The owners can still access:
- The kitchen
- The bathroom
- The office area
- The sleeping space
RV Motorhome Offers Spacious Living for Full-Time Travel
This custom RV Motorhome measures:
- 9.5 meters long
- 2.45 meters wide
- 3.8 meters high
Once parked and expanded, the interior provides around 17 square meters of living space.
The layout includes:
- A full kitchen
- A private office
- A lounge area
- A dinette
- A wet bathroom
- A queen-size sleeping area
The design feels warm and inviting instead of cold or industrial. Natural wood finishes, handcrafted furniture, and artistic details give this RV Motorhome a true cabin-like atmosphere.
Rustic Interior Gives the RV Motorhome a Real Home Feeling
Inside, the RV Motorhome showcases beautiful handcrafted finishes everywhere.
The kitchen sits directly beside the entrance and features residential-style appliances, including:
- Three-burner gas cooktop
- Oven
- Refrigerator
- Large stainless steel sink
- Flip-up counter extension
Storage appears throughout the kitchen in smart and creative ways. Massive condiment racks, woven cabinet fronts, and rotating light fixtures add both style and practicality.
The wood paneling creates a cozy atmosphere throughout the RV Motorhome. Florian carefully selected and prepared the wood to handle changing temperatures and road conditions during full-time travel.
Oversized awning windows also improve airflow and natural light inside the camper.
RV Motorhome Bathroom Uses Clever Space-Saving Ideas
The bathroom inside this RV Motorhome may look compact, but it uses every inch efficiently.
The dark interior creates a sleek modern appearance. A composting toilet slides into the wall when not in use, allowing extra room for showering.
The shower tray hides beneath a wooden cover, which keeps the bathroom clean and uncluttered during daily use.
Despite the small footprint, the bathroom delivers everything needed for comfortable off-grid living.
RV Motorhome Includes a Hidden Bedroom and Creative Office Space
Right behind the truck cab, the owners created a flexible office and studio area.
Maria uses the space for graphic design, artwork, and music recording. Built-in storage hides underneath the floor and behind the cabinets.
At night, the office transforms into the bedroom. A queen-size bed lowers from the ceiling using a winch system.
Above the cab, the RV Motorhome also includes a large storage cubby that now works as a sleeping area for the couple’s daughter.
A huge skylight above the bed creates an incredible sleep-under-the-stars experience.
RV Motorhome Delivers Serious Off-Grid Capability
This custom RV Motorhome handles long-term off-grid travel with ease.
The system includes:
- 2000W solar array
- Large battery setup
- Air conditioning
- Wood-burning stove
- Two diesel heaters
- Four-stage water filtration system
The plumbing setup includes:
- 150 liters of fresh water
- 150 liters of gray water
The owners can run appliances, tools, and air conditioning directly from battery power.
Florian also carries professional woodworking tools inside a trailer attached to the truck.
RV Motorhome Build Took Years of Hard Work
Florian and Maria spent roughly two and a half years building this incredible RV Motorhome. They paused construction briefly after the birth of their daughter, then continued refining the project into the beautiful mobile home it is today.
The couple estimates the conversion cost exceeded 100,000 Swiss Francs, excluding labor, tools, and workshop rental expenses.
Still, the final result shows exactly why so many people dream about full-time RV Motorhome living. This expandable truck camper combines craftsmanship, comfort, functionality, and complete freedom in one unforgettable package.
